The University of Minnesota China Center invites you to a webinar featuring renowned writer and journalist Peter Hessler.
After a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 2024 Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus (ICC) Conference returned on Friday, March 22. More than 200 faculty, staff, and students from all five system campuses gathered at the conference to share and learn about the work driving global learning forward at the University.
This session of the Sustainable Development Goals Webinar Series will feature three panelists who will share how they have integrated the Sustainable Development Goals into their courses or programs. You will hear about a health course with a study abroad component, a Freshman Seminar, and about how a 21-credit program was developed using the SDGs as a framework.
Panelists from Argentina, Palestine, and Japan/Spain will share their perspectives on how topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion are being discussed outside of the U.S.

In the third webinar in the "Global Perspectives on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" series, panelists from Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia shared their perspectives on how issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion are being discussed around the world. They also addressed gender as one specific aspect of diversity, explaining how the interpretation of gender has impacted women's roles and responsibilities in Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia and how that has translated to their personal experiences outside their home countries.

This Global DEI Initiative webinar featured three panelists who shared how DEI is defined and discussed in Denmark, Italy, and South Korea. They also shared how DEI — and their own intersectionality — shows up for them in both personal and professional contexts.

The Global Programs and Strategy Alliance launched the new Global DEI Initiative. During this interactive event, guests learned more about the initiative and heard from guest facilitator, Dr. Tara Harvey, who guided a discussion on “DEI and Global Education: Intercultural Learning as a Bridge.”
Experts have long cited the benefits of internationalization for students, whether through study abroad, interacting with international students, or learning in the classroom. These qualities such as openness and sensitivity to cultural differences, flexibility of thinking, respect for others, and tolerance also provide students a strong foundation for addressing issues of diversity and inclusion. What role can and should internationalization play in advancing social justice? How can universities ensure more equitable approaches to international education?
