Fostering International and Multilingual Student Success

In this semester-long program, a small multidisciplinary group of instructors came together to learn and support one another in efforts to better engage international and multilingual students in class and on campus.

Learning Outcomes

This cohort opportunity was intended for faculty and instructional staff to engage participants in:

  • furthering their understanding of international and multilingual student experiences in the U.S.,
  • building community among themselves, and
  • becoming more informed, knowledgeable, and skilled practitioners and advocates for student success.

This initiative aimed to foster asset-based mindsets and practices that contribute to a culturally and linguistically affirming and inclusive campus for all students. Supporting and engaging international and multilingual students is not an add-on but an essential part of equitable and inclusive teaching.
