Dr. Ann Smith is program director for International Student Academic Integration (ISAI). She leads the ISAI initiative at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus. ISAI is committed to providing flexible, customized professional development with a goal of deepening instructors’ understanding of and skill at designing and facilitating inclusive learning environments and effective interactions among multilingual, international, and domestic students in our classes. Ann has over 20 years of experience in international and intercultural education, training, and research. She received a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Administration from Penn State University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development from the University of Minnesota. Ann is committed to creating positive, inclusive and culturally sustaining environments where all students can thrive. Her recent publications focus on building faculty support/community as well as models that promote integration and inclusion of students from diverse backgrounds.
