The Award for Global Engagement (AGE) is given to faculty and staff members in recognition of outstanding contributions to global education and international programs at the University or in their field or discipline.

The Distinguished Leadership Award for Internationals (DLAI) is the University-wide award for alumni, former students, and friends of the University who have distinguished themselves in their post-university work as leaders in their professional careers.

Through the C. Eugene Allen Award for Innovative International Initiatives (III Award), the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance recognizes faculty and staff for their contributions to further the internationalization of the University of Minnesota.

The deadline to submit nominations is April 10, 2025.

The Josef Mestenhauser Student Award for Excellence in Campus Internationalization recognizes outstanding student contributions to international education. It acknowledges important work being done by students at the University of Minnesota to internationalize the curriculum and campus.

The Global Programs and Strategy Alliance presented the 2024 Award for Global Engagement to Andres Perez, professor of veterinary population medicine in the College of Veterinary Medicine. 

The all-University Award for Global Engagement is given to faculty and staff members in recognition of outstanding contributions to global education and international programs at the University or in their field or discipline.

The Josef Mestenhauser Student Award for Excellence in Campus Internationalization has been awarded to three University of Minnesota students for outstanding contributions to international education.

Dongting Cai, Vishal Jamkar, and Washington Galvão have each held leadership roles in programs and activities that contribute to the University of Minnesota’s mission of fostering global competence and developing global citizens.
