On April 16, Vice President for Research and Innovation Shashank Priya announced the decision to close the Office of Curriculum Internationalization:

After thorough deliberation, we have made the challenging decision to close the Office of Curriculum Internationalization (OCI) due to anticipated financial constraints. This decision has not been made lightly, as we are acutely aware of the significant contributions OCI has made in promoting global learning and advancing internationalization across our campuses and beyond.

This decision is in no way a reflection of the dedication, passion, or hard work of the OCI team. We extend our gratitude to colleagues in OCI for their invaluable contributions.

Internationalization remains at the core of the University of Minnesota’s mission, and we are committed to finding new ways to support and further enhance this vital work, both now and in the future, as our resources and circumstances evolve. The University remains steadfast in its commitment to internationalization and the essential work of the GPS Alliance.

The OCI team will continue to facilitate existing programming as scheduled, until the closure date of June 15. They will share further information in upcoming issues of their newsletter.
