In her role as assistant vice provost for international programs, Molly advises the vice provost for international affairs and advances the internationalization agenda at the University by convening stakeholders, reducing institutional barriers, and promoting opportunities for global engagement. Specific areas of responsibility include managing strategic international partnerships; coordinating Presidential delegations abroad; consulting with University units interested in establishing partnerships abroad; maintaining relationships with local international communities; hosting international delegations; and advancing the internationalization of the University. 

Portz has a B.A. in communications from the University of Iowa and a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota.
