As a diplomat and researcher, Surender Singh made valuable contributions to his home country of India. He dedicated his life to education, founding Hoerner College, Avadh University Faizabad, and many schools in his hometown at Hardoi and neighbouring hamlets. He was also elected to be Fellow Indian Council for Cultural Relation in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
