Stephanie Doscher named a Stevens Initiative Global Champion
Posted: September 4, 2024Stephanie Doscher, assistant vice provost for curriculum internationalization, has been named to the inaugural cohort of the Stevens Initiative Global Champions. Doscher was selected for her outstanding contributions and commitment to advancing global education and virtual exchange.
As a Global Champion, Doscher will work closely with the Stevens Initiative to advocate for virtual exchange, share best practices, and inspire new ways to connect young people and educators across cultures.
“I will be leveraging my expertise and network to contribute to our shared goal: Ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of virtual exchange,” Doscher said. “I’m honored to join this incredible effort and look forward to collaborating with fellow champions to drive meaningful change in the fields of education, exchange, and technology.”
Doscher is an expert in the use of digital technologies for curriculum internationalization, including Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). In COIL courses, two or more instructors from different countries co-develop a course module, bringing their students together via online discussion groups, video conferences, and group projects. Doscher is contributing editor and co-author of The Guide to COIL Virtual Exchange and co-author of Making Global Learning Universal: Promoting Inclusion and Success for All Students.
