Getting involved in student groups and campus programs helped Nita Touch build a community at the University of Minnesota, where she is now helping welcome incoming students.

The Learning Abroad Center brought on-site staff from around the world to Minnesota for a week-long workshop with opportunities to come together, meet in-person with LAC staff, learn about policies and procedures, and keep up with current issues in the field.
 

The Internationalizing the Curriculum and Campus team has re-focused their name to better reflect their work and impact.

Rebekah Montgomery, a former transport pilot in the U.S. Air Force, is pursuing her Master of Development Practice degree, offered by the Humphrey School and the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Global Change. 

Last academic year, the office helped 3,050 people get their U.S. passports and took passport and visa photos for more than 4,800 customers.

The Global Programs and Strategy Alliance presented the award to the Master of Development Practice program and to Jane Sitter, senior international career consultant.

Dr. Harvey Charles, Vice Provost for International Programs, and Dr. Karen Brown, Co-Lead of the UMN Sustainable Development Initiative, participated in the Transatlantic Dialogue Forum (TAD) '24, held May 29 to June 1 in Luxembourg. 

Millicent Adjei is using her experience as an international student to inform her work as director of the Office of Diversity and International Programs at Ashesi University in Ghana.

On May 3, the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Global Change (ICGC) celebrated student and faculty academic accomplishments at its annual spring celebration. 

The 11 new scholars—each from different departments within four colleges and schools at the UMN—come from countries including India, Zambia, Iran, Nigeria, Ecuador, Niger, Sudan, South Africa, and Egypt.
