The University of Minnesota Passport Office is celebrating five years serving both the University community and the public.

Last academic year, the office helped 3,050 people get their U.S. passports and took passport and visa photos for more than 4,800 customers.

About half of the customers are University students, faculty, and staff, and half are from the general public, according to Meaka Pitschka, Passport Office manager.

The office provides a welcoming environment for those from all cultures and backgrounds, as well as for families with children. It is accessible via public transit, being located on several bus routes and near the Green Line.

In celebration of the anniversary, the Passport Office is offering $10 U.S. passport photos for University staff and faculty. The sale will run from Monday, July 8, until Friday, July 12. Appointments are required.
