Nfamara K. Dampha is a doctoral student in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resources Sciences at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He also received a Master of Development Practice degree from the university’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Nfamara, an international student from The Gambia, first came to the University of Minnesota in 2014 as a Mandela Washington Fellow, part of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative. Nfamara served as the Secretary-General of the Humphrey International Students Association (HISA), as well as an International Student Ambassador for his degree program. Nfamara teaches several courses for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), including one he co-teaches entitled “Diverse Voices of Africa.” In Nfamara’s roles on campus, he strives to creates spaces that promote collaboration and inclusion.
