ISAI: International Student Academic Integration

ISAI offers customized professional development for undergraduate faculty who have international students and would like help in promoting their integration in the classroom. We support faculty in establishing inclusive learning environments and identifying and designing quality opportunities for our globally diverse students to work and learn together.

ISAI is funded by the International Student Academic Services Fee, and is available to undergraduate instructors and faculty.

Faculty who work with us can choose 1-1 consultations, ongoing coaching, or a cohort experience.

ISAI outcomes to date:

  • Implement TA training to support inclusive environments and intercultural interactions
  • Curriculum review and adjustments to maximize opportunities to improve integration of domestic and international students
  • Improve student engagement and productive dynamics in groups/teams
  • Implement effective scaffolding to improve accessibility, inclusion, and engagement<

ISAI was developed by Professor Amy Lee and Dr. Ann Smith; and is offered in partnership between the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance and the Center for Educational Innovation.
