International Insurance

Insurance Options for Faculty/Staff Travelers

Faculty and staff who are enrolled in UPlan are covered by United HealthCare Global1, an emergency travel assistance program that can help with any type of travel-related emergency when you are 100 or more miles away from home or in a foreign country. Faculty and staff who are traveling abroad for University purposes may also purchase international travel, health, and security insurance through the University's plan with CISI.

Benefits and coverage vary between the two options. It is recommended that faculty and staff review their options carefully before traveling. The chart below compares the two plans. If choosing to rely on UHCGlobal, faculty and staff should review the details of the plan before traveling and follow the recommendations to set up a personal online account and print insurance cards.
