International Collaborative Research Forum

The University of Minnesota hosted a one-day forum on October 31, 2014, offering insights from experienced international collaborative researchers and funders.  The objective of the forum was to provide knowledge, tools, and resources to scholars interested in or already engaged in international collaborative work.

The event consisted of several panels of experts in the field in concurrent sessions and a lunch and social networking time for researchers. The event was sponsored by the Global Programs and Strategy (GPS) Alliance, the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Institute for Advanced Study, and the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility.

Forum sessions focused on topics including:
  • successes and challenges of international collaborative research, including questions of leadership and sustainability
  • international collaborative research in graduate education
  • funding for research initiatives, include new directions and advice on securing funding
  • resources for faculty and graduate students
