Alumni & Friends Reception in Iceland

The University of Minnesota hosted a reception for alumni and friends in Iceland on May 20, 2014. More than 50 alumni, friends, and recipients of the Val Björnson Scholarship for student exchange attended. The reception coincided with the visit of a delegation from the University of Minnesota, which included Provost Karen Hanson and delegates from the School of Nursing and the GPS Alliance. The School of Nursing launched an impressive UMN/UI co-taught seminar for their leadership doctoral students. The delegation met with UI's leadership, School of Education, Faculty of Business, World Language Center, Ministry of Education, and International Office—all focused on beginning or expanding current collaborations.

The delegation received a warm reception from everyone at the University of Iceland and the community. The U of M linkages to Iceland are deep and broad, and we both benefit greatly by the long-standing engagement.

See "Minnesota–Iceland 30th Anniversary" to learn more about the anniversary celebration held in 2012.
