Units in the GPS Alliance
The University of Minnesota’sChina Office (formerly known as the Beijing Office) was established in Beijing in 2009 as the institution’s first official office located abroad. In recognition of the more than 8,000 Chinese alumni that have graduated from the University since the first three Chinese scholars enrolled in 1914, the China Office is a critical resource to further develop educational, cultural, and social collaborations among China, the University of Minnesota, and the State of Minnesota.
The China Office focuses on three core areas:
- Student support
The China Office supports the University of Minnesota's efforts to attract the best and brightest students by engaging with prospective students, and it also supports current Chinese students and their parents.
- Educational collaboration
The China Office serves as a bridge to facilitate educational collaborations between leading schools in China and the University of Minnesota.
- Alumni relations
An essential purpose of the China Office is to improve the alumni network for the thousands of University of Minnesota graduates who live in China.
